Task One correct answer
Simplify \(\sqrt[3]{\sqrt[4]{a^6}}\) if \(a\ge 0\).
Solution
Write the roots as powers: \(\sqrt[3]{\sqrt[4]{a^6}}=(a^6)^{\frac14\cdot\frac13}=a^{6/12}=a^{1/2}=\sqrt a\). Since \(a\ge0\), no absolute value is needed. Answer: B.
